This past week the Diocese of Gallup released the names of 31 credibly accused priests.  As always, disclosure is important, but they need to do more:

1)  The need to release the files that go along with these names.   The files have in the past been important to show notice for when the Church first knew and provide for full disclosure of where these Priests were each assigned.

2)  All potential survivors should be provided notice that they may have potential claims.

3)  It should be confirmed where each of these individuals are at this time.  For those who are dead,  the time and place of their death should be confirmed.  For those who are alive, their present address should be disclosed.

4) Every effort should be made to make each of the survivors whole.   This means financial help along with the acceptance of responsibility by the Church.

Names on a list are not the end,  they are a start.

Abuse of children and the continued silence by the offenders needs to be prevented. If you suffered, saw, or suspected such events, it is important to know that there is help out there.
