There is a lot of road construction going on around the University of Minnesota, so they have come up with a safety program:

The plan is aimed at pedestrians, bicyclists, and auto drivers. The other parts of the program are advice for everyone:

Pedestrians

  • Look left, look right
  • Wait for "Walk"
  • Earbuds in? Don’t tune out.

Bicyclists

  • Watch for turning cars
  • Stay off sidewalks
  • Don’t run reds

Motorists

  • Watch for peds & bikers
  • Save lives, not seconds
  • Stay alert
  • Don’t text & drive

These are the things we are talking about all of the time here at the Injuryboard, I really hope the extra education keeps everyone safe.

Many companies look at the demands of construction safety plans as burdens regarding time and money, yet there could be a lot of benefits when you merely embrace the idea rather than disregard it as an unwanted

  2. Very good point, it's as much about the safety of the workers as anyone else. Thanks for reading and the comment.
